KETV reports on RADIUS. RADIUS is a new nonprofit organization in North Omaha that will start operating in July. It aims to help teenagers aged 12-18 who have been involved with the criminal justice system but are not in detention. The organization provides beds and holistic rehabilitation, focusing on keeping the youth close to their homes and families. They offer accredited schools on-site, and the average stay is around six months to a year. The teenagers also have access to healthcare, including addiction treatment. The program takes a trauma-informed approach and aims to reintegrate the youth into the community while strengthening family ties. The goal is to support their success and recovery.
