In 2019, RADIUS started as a vision for hope, a solution to keeping Omaha youth near their families for their effective treatment and recovery. Today, RADIUS serves youth 12-18 who are justice-involved and need treatment for mental health and/or substance use disorders. The innovative RADIUS program empowers youth and families to reach their full potential through community engagement, trauma-informed education, social and behavioral health services.
Join us on Thursday, September 26, for an evening of empowerment, as we celebrate the transformative work being done for youth and families at RADIUS.

Eduardo’s work ranges from painting on canvas, wood, glass, and murals to interactive art. He has been commissioned by various individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations and exhibited in various solo and group exhibitions, including Omaha’s Bemis Center of Contemporary Arts and Gallery 1516. Eduardo also led an interactive art workshop at The Samuel Bak Museum and will be teaching art classes at The Joslyn Art Museum in the Fall.
Prior to his career as a visual artist, Eduardo Gardea was assisting people with mental health and substance abuse challenges and utilizing his lived experience to assist Nebraska’s formerly incarcerated population.
Gardea’s vision as an artist is to update the historical and modern-day portrayal of those who have been denied involvement in mainstream economic, political, cultural, and social activities. Eduardo’s work seeks to raise BIPOC and blue-collar people from their traditional confinement at the lower peripheral edge of society by highlighting their perseverance through cycles of oppression and failures of democracy.
