Tanya Martin

Tanya D. Martin, Ed.D. is an accomplished educator and academic leader with over 30 years of experience in special education, teacher preparation, accreditation, and professional training. She has served as Department Chair and Assistant Professor of Education at Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Dr. Martin earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, a Master of Special Education, and a Master of Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska Omaha, and holds a Doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska. Throughout her career, she has taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses, specializing in trauma-informed teaching, classroom management, and special education.

Her leadership experience includes serving as Assistant Superintendent and Special Education Director at Boys Town Schools, as well as guiding state and national accreditation initiatives. A published researcher and frequent conference presenter, Dr. Martin is deeply committed to equity, restorative practices, and supporting at-risk youth.

She has received numerous honors, including the Council for Exceptional Children’s Special Educator of the Year Award and the Distinguished Alumni Service Award from the University of Nebraska Omaha.
