Guiding Youth Toward Confidence, Connection, and Change
Residential Services
RADIUS provides 24 beds for youth ages 12–18 across three distinct living suites, each with private rooms and access to a dedicated one-acre outdoor recreation area. The environment is designed to be safe, structured, and therapeutic.
We use evidence-based models like TARGET©, Restorative Practices, and Safe Crisis Management to support youth with trauma histories, behavioral challenges, and mental health or substance use needs. The length of stay varies by need and court order, but most youth remain in care for 6 to 12 months as they work toward healing and achieving long-term stability.

In-Home Services
Planning for a successful return home begins at the time of the youth’s admission. Families and support systems remain closely connected through regular communication, home visits, and involvement in the youth’s care both at the facility and in the community.
As transition planning begins, specially trained in-home staff work directly with families to build the structure and support needed for long-term success, ensuring a successful return home.

Education Services
All youth at RADIUS attend school on-site in small classrooms of 6–8 students, allowing for focused, individualized learning in a supportive setting. Each student receives a tailored education plan, which may include credit recovery and vocational navigation services.
RADIUS teachers provide direct instruction and coordinate closely with the youth’s home school to support a smooth academic transition after their stay, ensuring education stays on track alongside emotional and behavioral growth.

Behavioral Health Treatment Services
Behavioral health services at RADIUS are delivered in partnership with Charles Drew Health Center, located on the RADIUS campus in a community-facing space designed for easy access and continuity of care.
This partnership allows youth to receive consistent, trauma-informed therapy and mental health support both during their stay and after they return home. Families and community members can also access services at this location, strengthening long-term support beyond the program.

Community Partnerships

At RADIUS, community partnerships are essential to the success and impact of our programming. These collaborations allow us to provide holistic, trauma-informed services to justice-involved youth and their families.
One of our most vital partnerships is with Charles Drew Health Center, which operates a facility directly on the RADIUS campus, offering accessible healthcare services to our youth.
We are proud to work alongside a diverse network of organizations committed to youth development, family support, education, and healing.
FAQ
Here you will find the answers to the frequently asked questions.
Who does RADIUS serve?
We serve youth referred through the juvenile justice system. Our campus supports up to 24 youth at a time with an average stay of 8.2 months.
How is RADIUS different from other youth programs?
RADIUS takes a trauma-informed, relationship-based approach to care. Unlike many programs, we keep youth connected to their families and community while providing comprehensive support. Through strong partnerships with organizations such as Charles Drew Health Center, and YouTurn, we provide education, mentorship, and therapeutic services that foster long-term growth and behavioral change.
Can families be involved in the program?
Absolutely. Family involvement is at the core of our model. From day one, families are engaged through skill-building, coaching, and care planning. We also host monthly Family Dinner Nights to encourage connection, healing, and open dialogue throughout the program.
How can I refer a youth to RADIUS?
Referrals are made by juvenile justice or child welfare systems. If you’re a caseworker, probation officer, or agency representative, please contact us directly to discuss eligibility, availability, and the next steps for placement
How is RADIUS funded?
RADIUS is primarily funded through state contracts with the Nebraska Departments of Education and Juvenile Probation. We rely on donations and community support to cover the full scope of services we provide, especially those not covered by government funding.
